I know it is going to be so tough, especially hard for me will be the food plan, but, I have to do it no matter what.......... it is very important to me.
I have send it all my info and photos and over the next week or so will be awaiting my program to arrive.
So let's get Xmas and New Year over and it will be all systems go!

New Training Program

I am very excited today.
I have found someone to help with my Pre Comp Training. I have been doing it pretty much alone for the past 6 weeks or so, since finishing my IBO programs which went for 18 weeks, and although i have kept training really really hard and eating pretty well, i certainly do need some direction for the lead up to the comp (which is in only 17 weeks now). Eeek!
I am hoping to get my Pre Comp Program and start on it officially on Jan 1st which is going to be 15 weeks prior comp.
I cannot wait.
More soon...................

Cardio!

Hmmm,
Have been a bit slack lately with cardio training and have been focusing a lot more on my weight training so, today decided to get myself back in line again as my comp is only about 17 weeks away now.
I really need to buckle down and correct a few things that i have been a little relaxed about over the last few weeks as i still have a lot of work to do esp on my lower body.
So today i went off the the gym in the morning, as usual, and did a massive 700calorie plus burn on the treadmill. An hour of interval training on the tready with my ipod! Just what i needed to get back on track again. Loved it too. I felt tired but very empowered afterwards.
Once i get to 16 weeks out, my training will have to become very serious indeed. Not that it hasn't been all along for the past 6 months, but, really on the ball with nutrition as well as workouts.
I am so excited, but, occasionally daunted, sometimes positive and other times negative. It isn't going to be easy, but i know if i get through this i will feel so great that i have achieved yet another of my life goals!!!!
Gotta get back to work so chat later.................

Pageant Fun

Monday again!! Rest Day today. Yay!
Apart from work of course................... bummer.
I was going to go to the gym today but, was too tired to get up early and I do know how important it is to have a rest day. Tonight is dance anyway, so I will still get some exercise in today.
Last night was lots of fun. The Goolwa Pageant. 6 of my bellydancers and I plus, 3 of their children, walked in the parade with the Flower Worx float. As we do every year now. It is such fun. Throwing out lollies to all the kids who are so excited and the little ones in awe of some of the colourful and lively floats and displays! Waiting to see Santa at the end in his sleigh. And of course waving and saying Merry Christmas about 1,000 times to the crowd. I love at the beginning passing by the dear oldies all sitting out the front of the nursing home and retirement homes with their carers and families. They all wave and seem to enjoy it so much. It is really wonderful.
Then tea afterwards with family and friends at the pub.
Great Stuff! More later........... gotta do some work now.

Getting really serios

Hey there,
Well I have been humming and haa-ing this week as to whether or not to enter into the INBA Competition coming up in April nex year. This week a bit of self doubt started to creep in. But, I am happy to say, I have nipped it in the bud, and all systems are go once more!
I am now training one body part a day. 1 day a week - quads, 1 day - hammies and glutes, an 1 day shoulders. I do triceps and back one day and biceps and chest one day. I also incorporate about 3 abdominal sessions into my plan each week and as much cardio as i can manage at the moment. Mainly cardio consists of my warm up before doing weights and at least one cardio session a week. Eg RPM class. Or own cardio session on treadmill etc., I will need to increase that later on!! I still dance at least once a week too, sometimes more.
Diet is going ok, except that I have been having a glass of wine in the evening with my tea of late, but will have to eliminate that soon. Ho hum, i know the diet is going to be hard work. Much harder than any of the training.
I will try and keep writing in this jounal as much as possible as i know there are a few people who want to follow my pre comp training.
If you have any suggestions for me, please let me know, I need all the help i can get!!!! Honestly. Thanks heaps.

5 months down, 5 months to go.......

Hey there,
Well 5 months since i started training and 5 months until the INBA comp in Norwood. I am getting very excited already.
I am managing to keep on track. Have been on my own for 2 weeks now. Kylie has been away and the IBO program finished at 18 weeks.
I did actually have a bit of a splurge here and there for a couple of weeks, eating a bit of yummy white Organic Chocolate that i discovered by mistake and good old So Good Soy Ice cream (a favourite from the last 2 summers) but back on track again now. Yay. Don't think i did any damage in that short time.
Very very focused on diet again now, still really focused on training too, loving the training and the feeling of being fit and being able to wear smaller clothes. And looking ok in them too. They feel so much more comfy when they fit well. Even wearing a few size 8s now!!!! Woohoo!!!
Chelsea and Nath are all moved in to their new home and settled in their new jobs. It is great now she is feeling better and able to go through each day with normality again. Poor thing, she was soooooooo sick for a while there. Crazy time.
Both seem very happy and settled now.
Actually, Life is looking pretty good at the moment.
Xmas and summer on the way. My fave time of year. Can't wait for 10 days holidays over Xmas and New Year. Hooray.

Haven't written for a while.............

Well Chels and Nath move home to Goolwa this week end.
So exciting.
Chels is now about 16 or 17 weeks and starting to show!!!
Can't wait, Nath has already been working in his new job for about 2 and a half weeks and seems to like it there, Chels and Nath have just secured a lovely new home to rent, and Chels has a little part time job lined up for the summer months.
It's all looking good.

Haven't seen Dylan for a while. I must ring him and tee up meeting for lunch.
Miss him! His umpiring season has finished now for the year so wonder what he is gonna do to fill that gap.

Training is going full on.
Have decided that next April 2010 (25th to be exact) i am going to compete in the INBA Body Building Competition in Norwood, so training and diet are right on track. 27 weeks to go, or maybe 26 now actually.
Am so excited and focused about that.

Wondering if i might win one of the 4 comps i entered my photos in for...................... I do hope i win one at least!!! But there are so many people that go in for these comps. And many work hard like me, or harder!
Anyway, back to work.

Love this..........................

I can’t stand complaining when it comes to dieting and training. People have to accept that there are rules that must be followed to reach their goals. As long as you are looking for an easier way out, you won’t be loyal to your principles. It’s all about the mindset. Instead of seeing something as “not being allowed” or “cannot have,” you have to tell yourself that you can choose the foods that help you reach your goals and you can choose to avoid the ones that don’t. In other words, you have the right to eat whatever crap you want, but if you do, it’s just because you are not 100% committed.

Haven't blogged for a while!

Hi there,
Have been busy bee. Lots of training, dancing and performing of late. Am still hyped from that whole depletion week and photo shoot thing!! Now have set a new goal for myself. It's a biggy too. April 2010 - INBA Body Building Competition in Adelaide. So, training continues...........
I have to say i am loving it so much. Must just be my time to do this because through my whole life have been really into gym, training etc., but never ever ever taken it this far, and never enjoyed it quite so much i don't think.
Although when the kids were little i loved going to Aerobics 3 times a week and never missed unless i really had to.
Anyway, that is my next goal and until then i shall keep training, and eating well and all the while be quietly preparing myself for this one.

A few days on.......................

Hey, a few days have gone since i last posted. Have been so busy.
Wow, I received my pics from photographer the same night that he took them...........
I couldn't believe how fast he got them back to me.
I have nearly 600 to choose from and have been checking them out - over the last few days.
When i started looking at my pics all i could think was - OMG i still have so much work to do on my lower body!!!Now i am actually starting to like some of them................ but so hard to choose which ones to send in for the comps. I also have to write a 500 page essay. I plan to send everything in by Monday. You get a couple of weeks and that will be one week after my finish date, so that should be fine. I just don't want to rush this as I really want to make the right choices and write a good story to go with the pics.
Moving along,
I got straight back into training actually.
In fact on the Sunday (photo day) apart from the 2 rice cakes and honey for breakky and about 10 - 12 jelly babies eaten during the photo shoot, I pretty much just got straight back into the nutrition plan that same day and then on Monday (day after) i got straight back into my training.I received my new training program on Tuesday from my Coach Kristin, so have started on that. It's kinda funny how disciplined i feel, but I don't want to stuff up any of the great results i have had, after all that hard work over the last 12 weeks.
Also, i still have another 2 weeks nearly before the Club 100 competition ends for me. I entered Body Blitz and New Body Challenge at the same time and Club 100 as well.
Oh Wow, I have just seen in my new Oxygen mag, another comp, this one is for a picture on the front of the magazine and some prize money, so i might send in a photo and story for that too and see how i go! Why not. As i keep saying, in for a penny, in for a pound.
Bye for now

It is done!

Well, the photographer has just left. He took over 600 photos. We did it at home. Was much more comfortable too. Did the Bikinis, Training Gear, (a few with newspaper and lots without) and also in 2 of my Belly dance costumes as well. I had a ball, it was so much fun. My husband enjoyed it too.I can't wait to see the pics. Will get the disc tomorrow night apparently. Great Photographer and very good price - i was amazed.
I do feel hungry now and tired too.
All i have had this morning is 2 black coffees, 2 rice cakes with honey and about 8 jelly babies. Oh yeah and about half a glass of water. Didn't feel like eating really.

Anyway, back to it again now. Normal diet and of course, tomorrow 6am, back to the gym again, after having 3 days off.
For my online friends who are just starting their depletion week, it goes fast, it's not really too bad and boy it is soooooooooo worth it!! I feel fantastic, and am so happy with my final results.

Day before..........

Update,
I am having a great day today actually, its Saturday and the last day before tomorrow's photo shoot, I feel really good, not hungry at all, fed up with chicken though hehe.
I just worked out exactly what i am wearing for photos, with my hubby Greg, I tried out my brand new hairpiece and love it, and tan looks unreal!!!! Thanks Laura.
Might just have them all taken at home i think, the beach is a lovely idea but way too cold at the moment and this way i can have a mirror handy and coffee machine and heater on the go etc.,
Aaaaagh, so not long now - i am having a red wine later on tonight too ....... woo hoo, cant wait.
Talk later.

One more day to go!

This week has gone fast I am happy to say.........
Today was pretty good actually even though i had to work all day. I felt a lot better than yesterday even though i was at home yesterday all day. I had more energy and generally felt happier today.
Food hmmmmm sick of chicken and sweet potato, Rice Cakes and Almond spread, and you got it, lots of water, water, water. Salt free.
Nice treat this evening. I had my hair dyed after work at the hairdresser, (regrowth, to hide the greys!!) Usually do it myself but thought i would let Brooke do it for me this time. Ahh very relaxing, they do it so much better and so much faster than me. Less mess too!
I have one more day to go and am so excited but also so very nervous.
Have just heard from my photographer, Andy. He is all set for Sunday. I'm not haha.
Beach at dawn unless weather is really bad, then plan B, our house where i have an area set up just in case.
Anyway,
It's pretty late and I have just shaved legs etc ready for exfoliating tomorrow morning and a spray tan at lunch time. That will be fun - not. Hate having it done but looks good afterwards. Again, usually do it myself - well no, that's not true, Greg usually does it for me, but as this is a special occasion, another treat!! Spoiling myself a bit I know, but if i win one of the three comps it will certainly be worth the extra effort. And even if i don't, i have worked very hard over the last 12 weeks for this moment so what the heck! In for a penny, in for a pound............

Off to bed now,
See ya later,

Started with the increased water on Sat. Have managed to drink 4 litres a day each day now for 4 days, and then I started with the depletion training on Sunday,
That's going ok too, but couldn't drag myself to the gym this morning, so, will have to go after work now!!! Damn. Prefer early mornings. Was just too damn lazy to get up out of bed today.
Food, Well that is definately the hard part.Missing everything i like......... boo hoo but i will soon be through it hey.Miss my carbs so much and my soy milk in coffee....................... Keep thinking about Sunday when i can have some rice cakes and honey and some chocolate and jelly babies - hehehehe.

Got the Gig

Just had a phone call.

YES!

I got the gig at the Greek Restaurant - once every 3 weeks. Yay!

Fabulous news!

Depletion Week starts Tomorrow!

YAY............ Tomorrow (Sat) i start my week of depletion.
I have booked my nails, hair, tan and photographer and I am soooooooooooo excited and nervous about the whole thing.
Tomorrow i have to start a really tough week but it WILL all be worth it.
If others can do it then i am sure i can. Although i am sure it is not an easy thing to do. DISCIPLINE - DISCIPLINE AND MORE DISCIPLINE!!!!
But hey, you know what, if i have come this far - then what the heck. As i keep saying.......... 'In for a penny - in for a pound'
I AM SO SURE IT WILL BE WORTH IT - EVEN IF I DON'T WIN ANY OF THE 3 COMPS, I WILL SURE FEEL LIKE A WINNER.

Getting Excited

OMG 2 more weeks until i finish my first 12 weeks with Ideal Bodies Online.
That means 2 of the 3 comps i am in, will be finishing for me. Then one more goes for a couple more weeks.
Have just contacted a photographer so I can organise my final photos. Have been advised to go all out and get professional ones taken and have already booked in for my hair and tan!!
Am so excited...................
The photographer has some great ideas for the photo shoot so i hope he is available and can book me in with him.

To be continued...............

Lots of performing this week end!

Had a fabulous weekend.

Had 3 performances booked in four days.
Two performances with my Tribal girls, Kick Butt Tribal and One Solo Belly Dance performance.

The latter was a very, very, important one for me. My first ever gig dancing at a Restaurant!! A Greek Restaurant no less. And boy, oh, boy, I had a fabulous time. I put in 150% effort and hopefully will be invited back to dance there again. I had my wonderful hubby Greg there supporting me, and some of my friends were having dinner there so that was really wonderful................. They were great. Clapping along and really getting into the spirit of things.

Thanks guys.
and a very happy birthday to you Fran xxxx

Birthday and Father's Day...........

Had a great Week End away.
We stayed at the O'Connell Inn in North Aelaide. Had a very nice room, enjoyed good service and was a very good price too........

We had dinner at the Royal Oak Hotel, also on O'Connell St in North Adelaide. We had a voucher for $100.00 which we won recently and so ended up paying about $15.00 for a fabulous meal for the two of us. It was lovely.I definately recommend this place. The meal was great and it is has a really nice atmosphere too.

After dinner we went and saw Hairlylemon play at the Lion on Melbourne St. As usual it was nice to catch up with them and their parents Bron and Roger, but I think I am over going to pubs to see bands play. Am I too old, or is it that I am becoming too healthy????

I just couldn't handle the smoke when we went out into the courtyard to get some (so called) fresh air! I couldn't drink more than 3 glasses of sparkling wine for the entire evening! What the!!! and the noise and the crowd were too noisy and too crowded and by about 10.30pm I was ready to go home to bed!!!! Oh dear. I managed to hang in there till they finished at 12.30am, but, it was tough.

Enjoyed both Saturday and Sunday shopping sprees in the Mall. Saturday I went on my own and Sunday with Greg.

Also caught up with Greg's mum on Sunday and we went to the Brunswick Hotel for a little while to watch another band that Greg wanted to see. Didn't stay too long but it was nice.

We bought a new printer for the computer. A scanner, copier, printer and CD - DVD printer - all in one.

And a Wii fit game. Among other stuff.

All in all, a great 50th Birthday and Father's Day Week End in Adelaide.

This post is for Dylan..........

Feeling a bit sad today..........
My son Dylan, who lives in Adelaide, came to stay with us for 6 nights (for my 50th) and today, early this morning, he left on the early bus, to go back home.
It made me realize how much i do miss him.
I don't see him very often, and when i do, it is usually not for long.
Anyway, although i didn't get to do much with him, or even spend that much time with him, while he was here, it was certainly nice to have him around, and here in the evenings when i got home from work.
Hopefully, his next visit will be a bit sooner.
Take care Dylan, love you,
Mum xx

Had a fabulous 50th Birthday today.
So many birthday wishes on Facebook, text messages, emails, cards, phone calls and absolutely beautiful flowers from my gorgeous hubby Greg and brother Dave. Delivered by my friend Terry who owns the local florist here in Goolwa.

Had a lovely dinner on Sat night with some of my friends and family in Pt Elliot and this weekend Greg and I are having a week end off and going to have a meal and stay overnight in Adelaide.

Can't wait............

Organised someone to stay home and look after all the pets and away we will go!!

Hoping to get a pushbike soon, to enhance my training and yes finally after a whole year, Greg has ordered me a new engine for the Honda and soon I hope, I will have my wheels back again.

Can't wait for that either............................

Anyway, have more people to respond to on facebook so see ya soon.

IBO Training

Well, I am now starting week 9 of my training with IBO.
I am really starting to notice some serious changes in my body.
My weight has dropped by 5kg so far, my measurements are dropping each week and my clothes seem to be getting bigger and much more comfortable again on me.
YeeHaa.....................
I am starting to receive some nice compliments from time to time too which is really nice and I feel FABULOUS AND FIT!!
My body is now becoming nicely toned, I am noticeably stronger and I am definately fitter. I'm never hungry unless it is meal time. I have heaps of energy and I am never ever bored. Too busy for that these days.
I am now really used to getting up ultra early and soon when Spring/Summer is here, it will be a wonderful start to the day.
I would really encourage anyone who is wanting to get fit, healthy and strong to have a look at the Ideal Bodies Online website.............................
Or at least, come in and have a look at joining the local gym in Goolwa. They are fabulous there.
You never know, it could change your life.

More life changing news!!

Well here I am at work as usual............ so just a quick note!
Have recently had some wonderfully exciting news from my gorgeous daughter Chels, but cannot say too much at the moment, as it is her news and I don't want to spoil her moment by telling people something that she might want to tell them herself........... So mum's the word at the moment.
I can say however, that this news will have yet another life changing affect on my life! so it is definately all happening for me at the moment.
What an incredible start to my 2nd 50 years which starts on Tuesday I might add. The first day of Spring.
All for now

Sunday 23rd August 2009

I am about to embark on Week #8 of my Life Changing Program with Ideal Bodies Online (IBO). I am feeling very pleased with my results to date and very excited about the results yet to come.
I am so glad I decided to go ahead with this Program because it IS one of the best choices I have ever made regarding my health and fitness.
I have a wonderful Coach Kristin, a very supportive husband Greg, and I am a lucky enough to be a member at a fabulous Gym in Goolwa with great staff and resources.
Thanks to Sue at IBO too because without her wonderful Online Training Program I wouldn't be where I am at the moment.
