End week 4 already!!!! That's 28 days down!

Hey there once again,

This week i have worked very hard indeed.
Kept to my diet plan beautifully and am finding that is getting so much easier now. I am able to eat all the food now and actually look forward to each meal and each different day on the plan as i am doing 3 different days and rotating them. One day is carbs with every meal! That is my favourite day :)
Have added in a cardio session every afternoon or evening as well as my normal morning program. And funnily enough, even though it is so hard to get through that cardio session in the arvo, at the time, for the rest of the evening i feel great, whereas before i always felt really tired in the evening! I think my metabolism is starting to fire up, hooray. I have such a sluggish metabolism from years ago when i had an eating disorder. (in my 20's).
I now have to weigh and measure, and do skin folds and photos for my lovely lovely coach every Sat am, and she is adjusting my diet/training as necessary. I have never met Di, and only spoken on the phone to her once, last Sat, but i think she is fabulous.
Anyway, Wk 5 start for me officially on Monday. Better go and get back to work. Gotta keep the boss happy now he has joined the gym too and is helping me train in the mornings.
Bye now,

Jan xx

Hello to Kasha from CK

This one is for you Kasha. Thanks for taking an interest in my blog and following my story. I am quite honoured that someone is interested enough to follow my story!!
I am afraid i don't always write as often as i should. Sorry for that. So busy these days.
I have just started week 4 (on Monday) and am so enjoying the whole experience. Week 3 went really really well.
I have just started doing 2 training sessions a day - have added an extra session of cardio each arvo/evening to try and give my lower body a kick start. Need to shift some fat on the ole thighs!!
Also changing around the diet now too. To see what works best for me.
Have a day1 , day 2, and day 3 eating plan that rotates.
Day 1 is the best! Carbs with every meal............. Yay! Although each day has it's perks!
Anyway, hubby is calling me for tea, very late tonight as we had a busy evening.
Gotta go, there he goes again!
Bye now,
Jan x
PS Kasha are you on face book? if so, look me up - just type in Jan Button.

Day 14. Last day of 1st 2 weeks!

Well here i am again. 2 weeks in to Pre Comp Training. The last 2 weeks have been tough, although not anywhere near as bad as i expected. I have only been eating Proteins, Fats and Fibrous Carbs. (Vegies only) But eating 6 meals a day, some days i could hardly eat all the food listed.
I have also increased my water intake from 2 litres a day to 3 - 4 litres a day. Didn't think i could stick out the diet or the water actually, but i did.
IT'S AMAZING WHAT YOU CAN DO WHEN IT IS REALLY IMPORTANT TO YOU!!
Greg has been a great help with support and cooking. I am starting to do more of the food prep and cooking myself now as he has also joined the gym and is coming with me in the mornings, so, he doesn't have as much time now, but i would rather do the prep and cook myself if it means he is coming to the gym and working out himself.
I am looking forward to the next 3 weeks as i will be on a rotation diet and 2 days out of 3 will be able to eat carbs again. YES!
Training has been really good too. Training less hours a week at the moment, but, harder in that i am using bigger, heavier weights and also practising posing now too which is quite tiring.
16 weeks down - 14 weeks to go.
Di my trainer/mentor is FABULOUS. In touch with me every day and very supportive and encouraging all the time. I am so hoping i will get to meet her.
Also have Kylie helping me too. She is terrific. So knowledgeable when it comes to Body Building and what is important in regard to the competition. Having been a competitor and a judge. She is so helpful, i am very, very, lucky to have her help.
Anyway, I know there are a few people following my blog now, so i say this to you guys......................... thanks for being interested in what i am doing and i hope that i can inspire you the way so many people are inspiring me at the moment.
Regards

Day 9 of the 16 weeks!

A week has past since my last post. Still going strong - i am happy to say. Although i haven't found the diet too daunting, i will be glad when the first 14 days is over and i can start re introducing some actual carbs to my diet. If i had to live on this diet forever i would probably become severely suicidal. I must admit though, i do feel really good on it!! Never hungry, in fact, always full! No upset tummies either, which i do often suffer from when eating a lot of carbs. Drinking lots of water 3 - 4 litres a day, hasn't been too hard with this heatwave either. My skin is glowing, haha. The training is great. I have realised i have to lift heavier weights, and really push myself with cardio, but, not necessarily train for as long. At least for now anyway. So at the moment i am spending about an hour at the gym instead of 90 mins. The key is to train HARD......... rather than long. I am LOVING IT!!
Di is FANTASTIC. What a wonderful trainer/coach/mentor she is. Fabulous lady. Emails me daily and is always at the end of the phone or internet for me.
Can't wait to meet her - hopefully in April for my Comp!!

PS Greg has joined the gym too and is starting to train himself. Yay!!

Day 3

Had heaps of fun at training today. I really enjoyed it. Although i do love training anyway.
Did legs today (always my favourite) and Kylie (my body building friend and helper) came to the gym and we started on some Posing Practise. She brought her very, very, very, high heeled, platformed shoes for me to practise with, and her gorgeous costume, to show me!
Wow, they are unbelievable........
She helped me with my last set of leg extensions, wow, what a difference when someone is pushing you to do, one more, one more, and just one more. That was 4 more than i thought i could do!!!!
Anyway, am on third day, still coping fine on the diet. So far. All i seem to be doing is eating, eating and more eating. I must say that yesterday, when i did cardio and so therefore didn't have a protein shake after training (and before breakky) i didn't seem to feel as full all day, as i have today and Monday when i did weights and had that extra protein shake! Must make a big difference.
Di (my online trainer) is so clever, she has really worked it all out for me. And always just an email or text message away to answer sudden questions that i frequently seem to have. And Greg, (hubby) what an angel doing all the cooking to make sure there is always something there ready for me to eat when i am supposed to eat it. And making sure it is the RIGHT thing to eat.
Thanks, Greg and Di and Kylie. xxx
I have added a pic of me and Chels my gorgeous daughter (who is going to have a baby in April - about 2 weeks before my comp!!) at the beach during the holidays (in my fabulous new beach shelter) and my lovely Asian food steamer for cooking all those lovely veges in. Thanks for that Greg!!! I do love it.
Bye now,

Day 2

Yay, nearly through Day 2 with no problems so far. I am happy to report.
Can't wait for tomorrow's training session at the gym in the morning, not only am i training legs (my favourite) but also, I am starting Posing/Routine Training with Kylie.
Today was cardio, Hight Intensity Interval Training on the stationery bike followed by Abs.
All went well, bike was kinda tough, and I felt tired afterwards, once i had gone home and had a shower and got ready for work.
I have been a bit hungrier today too, the food filled me up, but not for as long - it seemed.
Gonna have tea in a minute. Then supper after that, then BED.
Need more sleep. I have to try and get to bed earlier.
Anyway, off to have tea.
Bye now.

Day 1 - Pre Comp Training (15 weeks)

Well finally today has arrived. The day i start my Pre Comp Training. A strict nutritional program and training program for 15weeks duration which will take me to my first ever Body Building Competition in April.
So excited and nervous and a little apprehensive.
Up early and off to the gym as usual but a new training regime and a very very strict new diet! The first two weeks are pretty tough. But should give my body a big kick start I believe. Today wasback and biceps and yes i dragged my bike back out again to ride to and from the gym and work, like i was last year. Felt good though.
Proteins, fibrous carbs (veges), and fats. That is it!! Water, green or white tea, and the occasionally coffee!
How weird it felt having a minced beef BBQ burger, snow peas and avacado for breakky!!
And so much food, so often. Not even hungry and it is time to eat again! Every 2 - 3 hours.
It is mid arvo and so far, so good. Hope it continues this way!
